Help us Commemorate 40 Years of the Oklahoma Native Plant Society by planting Oklahoma's beautiful native Wildflowers across all 77 counties.

Your organization can be part of this statewide celebration by applying to receive FREE native Oklahoma wildflower seeds to be planted in a public space in your County. If selected, you will receive 1 pound of seeds. If you are the only applicant in your county, you will receive 2 pounds of seeds.

Each pound of seed will plant approximately 1,200 square feet. Seeds must be planted in a public space such as a park, courthouse, library, school, fairgrounds, or other community location. In addition to the seed, participating groups will receive: A Pollinator Plot sign recognizing your project as part of the Celebrate ONPS 40 with Wildflowers initiative; Simple planting instructions; and, Guidance on site preparation and maintenance.

Seeds will be delivered mid-October 2026 for planting before December 31, 2026. Once established, these native wildflowers will bloom beginning in mid-April or early May, providing weeks of spectacular color while naturally reseeding for future seasons.

Native wildflowers do much more than beautify our communities—they provide essential habitat and food for Oklahoma's pollinators and wildlife. Scientists estimate that one out of every three bites of food we eat depends on animal pollinators, including bees, butterflies, moths, birds, bats, beetles, and many other beneficial insects. By increasing native wildflower habitat in all 77 Oklahoma counties, together we can make a lasting impact on pollinator populations while creating beautiful public spaces for everyone to enjoy.

How to Apply? Complete the application on the reverse side of this brochure and email it to ONPSinfo@gmail.com along with a photograph of the public area you plan to plant. Application Deadline: September 1, 2026
